The Artist

I was introduced to the art of porcelain-painting when I moved to Germany in 1997. During my three and a half years there, I studied with several teachers, including ex-professional painters from the renowned Meissen and KPM porcelain companies, but the ones who helped me develop my skill the most and who had the greatest influence on my style of painting are two artists who are immensely-talented not only as painters, but as teachers as well - Gerda Huth (teacher in Bonn) and Bronco H Bronkalla (ex-painter with KPM).

Since I returned to Singapore from Germany in 2000, I have continued to paint and have now, I believe, developed a style which is my own. I have also started to paint on wood and clay, although porcelain remains my favourite "canvas". I intend to try my hand at glass-painting too, so do come back and see what I manage to come up with. While I do appreciate art for its own sake and am also trying my hand at watercolour-painting, my first-love is still what I call 'functional art', which is art that can do something other than hang on a wall or sit on a display shelf. All of my porcelain items are kiln-fired and can be washed, but please do not scrub away at the gold or platinum as they can wear off with prolonged rubbing. Normal washing should do no harm.
